This role is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day financial operations of Mohawk's plants and ensuring financial activities are in line with divisional goals and objectives. The Assistant Plant Controller will also ensure conformity with generally accepted accounting principles and compliance with company and governmental regulations.What you'll do:Help with managing the plant's budgeting, forecasting, costing, strategic planning, provide objective guidance, and offer constructive feedbackPerform all aspects of general accounting and assist with audits, reconciliations, and analysis of capital projectsConsult with the plant management team in all functional areas of the plant to gather information concerning production, inventories, efficiencies, plant payroll, and any other focal areasServe as a member of the plant management team to maintain the integrity of the plant's financial statements and support plant management on business decisionsPrepare reporting based on financial data, forecasting, & production, to facilitate agile, data-driven decision makingPerform month-end closing duties including preparing journal entries, reviewing financial accounts, and performing account reconciliationsWhat you have:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline In-depth understanding of:GAAP, financial accounting principles and practices, specifically as they apply to costing, capital expenditure, budgeting, and internal reportingFinance control, processes, and systemsCost estimation and control, and budget managementWhat you're good at:Communicating effectively with a wide range of individuals in written, oral and interpersonal form, effectively exercising tact, discretion, judgment, and diplomacy when interacting or negotiating with internal and external customersCollecting and analyzing statistical and financial data with a proven ability to think through the intricacies of a given situation.Printing and explaining business and financial information in a way that establishes rapport, influence others, and gains understandingAccepting responsibility, challenging established practices, and drawing relevant conclusions, including the willingness to take a calculated risk, to stimulate, market, and sell new ideas within the divisionActing as a managerial advisor on professional and technical issues to reach strategic decisionsWhat else?We're located in a pretty great spot - check out this video to see what we mean.
