  • Aggressive Employee referral program with bonus opportunitiesThe Unclaimed Property ("UCP") Analyst is responsible for the monthly reconciliation of the UCP balance sheet accounts. In addition to the reconciliation, they will be responsible for ensuring all reconciling items are resolved within guidelines, implementing exception reporting and identifying any potential fraud issues that may exist. -Essential Requirements
  • Proficient in bank and other reconciliations
  • Understanding of general ledger transactions as they relate to banking; i.e. ACH, credit card, disbursement checks and bank deposits, and as they relate to accounts payable processes.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Solid organizational and communication skills -Essential Responsibilities
  • Complete UCP reconciliations of the general ledger and subledger accounts to source data and systems to ensure all transactions have been accurately recorded
  • Implement and maintain a process to validate UCP transactions in the general ledger accounts by querying, downloading, and comparing data from various data sources to identify inconsistencies or variances
  • Create and distribute monthly letters to vendors/customers with outstanding balances in the UCP account
  • Minimize unclaimed property escheated to states through research and resolution of accounts payable checks and accounts receivable credit balances
  • Collaborate with business partners, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, customers and vendors
  • Identify, classify, maintain, and protect files, documentation and sensitive information consistent with record handling and retention requirements
  • Research financial systems and processes (e.g., journal vouchers, expense reports, vendor file) to resolve issues (e.g., missing supporting documentation, missing payment files, missing journal vouchers, missing bank files)
  • Review exceptions and insure all reconciling items are resolved within audit support guidelines
  • Notify management of any potential fraud issues
  • Assist with internal and external audit requirements
  • Other accounting related duties -Education and Experience
  • Four year degree preferred but not required
  • Prior bank reconciliation and/or accounts payable experience
  • Knowledge of reconciliation tools and processes
  • Must be at least -eighteen years of age
  • Must have a valid Drivers License
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background and drug)
