Job Description Job Description LHH is seeking a Benefits
Specialist to support a nonprofit organization in Atlanta, GA. This
role will assist in administering employee benefits, workers'
compensation, leave programs, and benefits compliance for faculty
and staff. This role serves as a subject matter resource and works
closely with Human Resources leadership, vendors, and third-party
administrators to ensure accurate, compliant, and employee-focused
benefits administration. Key Responsibilities Benefits
Administration & Compliance Administer the full lifecycle of
employee benefits, including new hire enrollment, annual open
enrollment, qualifying life events, and benefit terminations Ensure
compliance with applicable federal and state regulations Conduct
routine benefit audits to ensure data accuracy and resolve
discrepancies Support ACA eligibility tracking and reporting in
partnership with third-party administrators Vendor & Partner
Support Assist with the annual benefits renewal process, including
data collection and analysis Serve as a point of contact for
insurance carriers, brokers, TPAs, and benefits vendors Support
contract administration and tracking of benefits-related documents
Workers' Compensation & Leave Administration Administer workers'
compensation claims, including documentation, reporting, and
coordination with providers Support FMLA, disability, and workers'
compensation leaves by assisting with employee communication,
documentation, payroll coordination, and return-to-work processes
Provide guidance to employees and managers throughout leave
transitions Assist with ergonomic assessments, workers'
compensation training, and educational initiatives Wellness &
Employee Engagement Support employee wellness programs in
collaboration with vendors and internal stakeholders Assist with
benefits communications, wellness initiatives, benefits fairs, and
educational sessions Coordinate vendor participation and employee
education efforts Operations, Systems & Reporting Maintain accurate
benefits data within HRIS and vendor platforms Ensure timely
payroll deductions, vendor payments, and invoice reconciliation
Assist with updating benefits procedures and documentation Prepare
census data, reports, and benefits-related documentation as needed
Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Human
Resources or a related field required 5-8 years of experience in
benefits administration or a related HR function Strong knowledge
of health and welfare benefits and regulatory compliance Experience
supporting retirement plans and wellness programs preferred Skills
& Competencies Solid understanding of employee benefits regulations
and plan administration Strong written and verbal communication
skills Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention
to detail Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal
teams and external partners High level of discretion when handling
confidential employee information Proficiency in Microsoft Office
(Excel, Word, PowerPoint) HRIS experience required; Banner
experience a plus Certifications Certified Employee Benefits
Specialist (CEBS) preferred Job Type Job Type: Full-Time | Contract
(Possibility of Hire) Work Arrangement: Hybrid (after training)
