JOB DESCRIPTION

Location:
Roswell Area Park
Status:
Part-time (2 or less hours per week, year-round)
Pay:
$25-$45/hour depending on experience
Schedule:
Varies Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday (Can be flexible) between
5:30 PM and 7:30 PM up to 2 hours per week.
Description:
The Music Director is responsible for teaching music and conducting
Roswell Youth Theatre students during their rehearsal period per
show (Fall Show: Aug-Nov) or (Spring Show: Jan-May). They will be
part of the audition process and directorial team, helping with the
final performances. It is the music director's main responsibility
to work on educating students in musical theatre vocal techniques
and styles required of a given show. Must be comfortable working
with a variety of vocal abilities and student ages 11+.
Upcoming Show: Rock of Ages Youth Edition
Auditions: January 6-8th 2025
Rehearsal Dates: January 27 - April 24 2025 Mondays, Wednesdays,
and Thursdays
Tech Dates: April 28 - May 1 2025
Show Dates: May 2 & 3
Requirements:
A performing arts degree is highly preferred; however, a minimum
requirement is a high school diploma or greater education. Prior
relevant experience is highly preferred. Must be energetic,
responsible, dependable, and have the ability to multi-task.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High degree of human relations skills. Ability to effectively
communicate and manage information to peers, participants, staff,
and volunteers. Ability to motivate, coach, and lead participants
in the field of music and/or drama.
Physical Demands:
The work is very physical and may involve some lifting, carrying,
climbing, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of light
to medium weight (5-50 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods
of time on your feet demonstrating dance moves and bending over to
assist students with physical corrections. Must be able to
communicate orally.
Work Environment:
Work is regularly performed without exposure to adverse
environmental conditions.
