At Northrop Grumman, you will have the resources, support, and team to do some of the best work of your career.Northrop Grumman Mission Systemsis seeking a talented Staff Network Engineer to join an exciting, complex, mission-focused software development project working with a team of qualified diverse individuals inDulles, VA. Primary Responsibilities:Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network. Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. Basic Qualifications:Active TS/SCI with Polygraph 14 Years with Bachelors in Science; 12 Years with Masters; 9 Years with PhD. An additional 4 years required in lieu of a degree. IP based networking, routing. Networking with copper, optical links. Preferred Qualifications: CCIE training or certification. Hardware engineering experience such as mechanical design, mechanical integration of rack-based systems, elevation diagrams, etc. Prior system administration of Linux and Windows based systems. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
