Job Description

The Product Engineer - Controls will develop and prepare documentation for control system product instrumentation, cabling/wiring, interfacing components, controllers, fieldbus & ethernet communications, and most importantly software (configuration of products). This role will participate in the design and support of all product facets - hardware, software, instrumentation, and communication. Representing the product development team, active participation in the preparation and execution of product training is required.

Responsibility:

--- Engineering and design of industrial control products:

o Create configurable products to conform to mechanical products/systems in handling a variety of options on top of a target & cost-competitive base offering.

o Research industrial automation technologies - principles, products, and trends to apply to design and inject innovative ideas.

o Contribute to control design architecture including electrical & control component evaluation & selections.

o Assist in architecting product level software with configurability and several application interfaces for automating execution processes.

o Program using - IEC 61131-3 languages & standards with CODESYS (or similar application IDE) for control, visualization & communications.

o Preparation of product documentation - operating instructions, installation & communication guides along with other required training materials.

o Coordination and review of control panel drawings and electrical field drawings.

o Understanding of UI/UX and participation in the process of user-driven product development.

o Contribution to agile/scrum team in various levels to ensure that ceremonies are conducted regularly with a routine product release cadence.

o Assist with product backlog, sprint planning & reviews, along with overall product roadmaps.

o Contribute to control product communication to easily integrate with refrigeration optimization services via AWS using MQTT or similar technology.

o Contribute to secure networking solutions to enable IIoT devices through product & services ecosystem.

o Improve existing and develop new tools to simplify and automate the process of designing, estimating, and proposing control panels; to be integrated with sales, purchasing, and manufacturing processes.

o Assist with project proposal development, customer contact and customer service response as needed.
