Job Description:
You will be the Aeronautical Engineer, Conceptual Design Staff
for the Conceptual Design team which is responsible for advancing
innovative aircraft concepts. What You Will Be Doing As the
Aeronautical Engineer, Conceptual Design you will be responsible
for shaping the technical direction of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics’
Conceptual Design effort, mentoring peers, and ensuring rigorous
standards across programs. Your responsibilities will include:
Develop, implement, and execute technical standards and associated
processes for conceptual design. Partner with deployed Conceptual
Designers to deliver high?quality support on programs. Mentor and
grow the next generation of Conceptual Design technical leaders.
Collaborate across sites to align design strategies with program
objectives. Ensure compliance with all aircraft design competencies

Opportunity MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a
facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must
possess an active Secret clearance to start. This position can be
based in either Fort Worth, TX, Palmdale, CA or Marietta, GA Basic
Qualifications • Engineering degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical or
Mechanical discipline from an accredited university. • Experience
leading multidisciplinary design teams of two or more people, such
as serving as a configuration or air vehicle lead. • Full
proficiency in one or more CAD systems such as Catia V5, 3DX,
SolidWorks, NX, or similar (Catia V5 or 3DX preferred). •
Significant experience with aircraft configuration design, sizing,
and/or synthesis. • Experience representing the company to
stakeholder audiences. • Experience leading technical reviews.
Desired skills • Experience lofting aircraft outer mold lines
(OMLs) and/or flowpaths (IMLs) in support of high fidelity
discipline analysis • Experience developing internal aircraft
packaging models and inboard layouts. • Experience executing
conceptual trades such as engine selection, planform selection,
control effector layout, landing gear layout, etc. • Experience
creating and utilizing Multidisciplinary Design, Analysis, and
Optimization (MDAO) models. • Experience producing design space
visualizations such as carpet plots, pareto fronts, and other
graphics. • Proficiency in a technical programming language such as
Matlab, Python, or other. • Adjacent aircraft experience, such as a
student/private pilot license, A&P certification, or other

Ability to work remotely Onsite Full-time: The work associated with
this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed
Martin facility. Work Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports
a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional
flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40
hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time
away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off
benefits. Security Clearance Information This position requires a
government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for
consideration. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this
position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most
major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland,
Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is
$104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary
range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work
location. Please note that the salary information is a general
guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not
limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's
work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market
and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits

and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented
full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid

time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up
to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for
holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated
based on start date during the calendar year. This position is
incentive plan eligible. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for
this position in most major metropolitan areas in California,
Massachusetts, and New York is $120,100 - $208,150. For states not
referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect
the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary

skills as well as market and business considerations when extending
