Career Description Job Description Summary: The Commercial Manager maximizes customer service, sales and profitability of the Commercial operations within an Advance Auto Parts store. This includes the responsibility for the commercial business, including the parts department and will be accountable for the execution all of the duties/tasks associated within the commercial program including the supervision and performance management of assigned personnel. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Overall responsibilities for all aspects Commercial Operations and Sales Partner with the Commercial Operations Manager, Commercial Sales Manager, and Commercial Account Manager to consistently grow the business by exceeding all sales and profit targets, and managing payroll in conformity with company strategy and core values * Always model and uphold the core values and principles of Advance Auto Parts Partner with General Manager to maintain and monitor all activities of store to ensure compliance of company policy in a timely manner and within budgetary limits * Utilize a strong knowledge of automotive systems, categories of merchandise, including features and benefits and second sourcing, to establish and maintain relationships with Commercial Customers, building trust and confidence by understanding and addressing their needs in a timely manner * Direct supervision of the commercial team to accomplish specific duties of the commercial side of the business and assign team members to specific duties, including, but not limited to assembling customer orders for delivery, handling customer credits, filling stock orders, outside vendor returns, housecleaning, supporting backroom inventory functions including restocking of incoming merchandise, returns, spot verification of inventory, and proper safety related maintenance of delivery vehicles * Manage the dispatch of deliveries to provide high level of customer service including the accountability and communication with the Commercial Parts Pros and Mobile Pros Plan and prepare work schedules of the commercial team and monitors commercial hours and work schedules for maximum benefit * At the commercial level, implement Advance programs to achieve maximum benefit * Open, close and secure store according to established procedures as scheduled * Conduct commercial staff meetings when necessary * Recruit, select, train, and manage the performance highly skilled team members to ensure future growth of the commercial program * Maintain security and safety throughout the store at all times ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES * With the Commercial Account Manager and Commercial Operations Manager, participate in structured sales programs for consistent contact with all levels of commercial trade * Know customers; make sales calls as appropriate with Commercial Account Manager * Ensure that Team Members follow the sales process * Promote the importance of making related sales to counter staff * Utilize Advance Auto Parts online training for Team Members and customers * Must work a minimum of fifty hours/week, to include nights, weekends, and holidays * Must attend all required Company meetings * Must project a professional image at all times while on Company property or at Company sponsored events QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Demonstrated leadership and management skills of a team of eight to twenty Team Members * Automotive parts experience as well as experience including basic selling skills * Proven sales ability with past experience in fulfillment of customer transactions EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE * High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required; one to three years related management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS * Must have a valid drivers license and be fleet safety (MVR) certified * ASE Certification preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
