OVERVIEW: - Habitat for Humanity - North Central Georgia, which
serves Cherokee, Dawson, Forsyth, and North Fulton counties,
enables individuals to build strength, stability, and self-reliance
through shelter.
Habitat for Humanity-North Central Georgia, Inc., an independent
affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, is an affordable,
ecumenical Christian housing ministry located in Roswell, Georgia.
-We are looking for an Associate Director of Development.
The focus of this position is on donor cultivation and
solicitation, marketing and grants management.
The Associate Director of Development reports to the Vice President
of Development and Strategic Initiatives (VP). -The ideal candidate
is a self-starter and can work both independently and works well
with others. -He/She should have a proven record in fundraising;
including but not limited to major donor solicitations, and grant
writing.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fundraising Initiatives
Corporate, Faith and Civic Sponsorship- In conjunction with VP, ED,
and board to prospect, research, and recruit new sponsorships
through the Homebuyer and Home Repair Programs.
Major Donor Cultivation - In conjunction with the Executive
Director and Vice President of Development and Strategic
Initiatives, increase investment at the $500-$10,000 level;
increase gifts of current donors and overall number of donors,
prospect and research for new donor support.
Research and write grant proposals as needed.
Marketing Support:
Create information packages for donors and house sponsors
Assist in creating and distributing monthly e-mail newsletters and
other updates
Assist in creating and distributing quarterly homeowner e-mail
newsletters
Prepare and distribute e-mail invitations to "First Nail" and home
Dedication ceremonies
Handle the affiliate's social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram,
YouTube, Google+, LinkedIn, and Pinterest)
Represent the affiliate at volunteer fairs, faith sponsors' mission
fairs, and other events.
Fundraising, Events and Activities:
Manage the affiliate's Special Programs to include Student
Engagement Program and Women Build Program
Assist in planning and conducting fundraising and donor and
volunteer recognition events
Support and attend fundraising events conducted by house
sponsors
Assist with semi-annual donor appeals
Administrative Support:
Manage the affiliate's donor and homeowner data base (enter
donations, create and mail donation receipts and gift
acknowledgments, and run reports)
Respond to website, e-mail, and telephone inquiries
General administrative assistance.
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum of three years of fundraising
strong communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent
verbal and writing skills; energetic, extroverted, and
detail-oriented
team-player
Experience using a donor data base (Salsa, ETapestry, etc.)
Motivated, self-starter who can work independently and in
groups
strong proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
experienced in social media management
comfortable in a faith-based environment
flexibility to work a majority of Saturdays
passion for Habitat's mission and serving others
Ability to:
- - - - - - - - -Work with a variety of people, personalities,
ages, and backgrounds
Lead, manage, supervise, and motivate individuals and teams of
volunteers
Plan, schedule, prioritize, coordinate, delegate, and manage
multiple work activities
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
College education or significant relevant work experience
Experience working in a nonprofit
