Interoperability leads the planning, development, and integration
of clinical interoperability solutions for patient education. This
role drives the strategy and execution of WebMD's Clinical-Facing
solutions, including standalone offerings and integrated EHR tools,
focusing on optimizing workflows to deliver market value and reduce
clinicians' time in assigning education. The manager is responsible
for enhancing patient education tools and platforms to improve
access, usability, and engagement across clinical settings,
ensuring seamless information flow to support education and
empowerment. This individual oversees all phases of the product
lifecycle, including market needs analysis, requirements
definition, planning, development, go-to-market strategies, ongoing
optimization, maintenance, migrations, and product sunsetting,
while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance patient
engagement and health outcomes.Responsibilities:
- Product Planning & Strategy
- Conduct and lead discovery processes and market research to
identify product and customer requirements.
- Define and articulate the product vision, ensuring alignment
with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop forecasts for revenue
and customer satisfaction.
- Perform return on investment (ROI) analysis to guide product
decision-making and prioritization.
- Develop, manage, and maintain the product roadmap to drive
strategic alignment and execution.
- Product Development
- Partner with developers, engineers, and product managers to
effectively leverage expertise in EPIC, Cerner, and eCW modules,
including Ambulatory, Inpatient, AVS, Depart, and MyChart.
- Design and optimize configurations, workflows, and
customizations to align with each EHR provider's solutions.
- Utilize a deep understanding of healthcare workflows, medical
coding systems, and operational processes to improve product
effectiveness.
- Lead and oversee large-scale healthcare IT projects, ensuring
timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
- Implement and uphold integration standards such as FHIR and HL7
to ensure seamless interoperability with EHR systems.
- Communicate product requirements and specifications to all
stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment.
- Define integration points with third-party systems to
facilitate interoperability and product functionality.
- Collaborate with stakeholders during sprints, development
cycles, and testing phases to drive successful outcomes.
- Product Launch / Marketing
- Collaborate with marketing to develop and execute the
go-to-market strategy.
- Contribute to defining product positioning, identifying target
markets, and crafting messaging that highlights key features and
benefits.
- Act as a product evangelist, effectively communicating the
product vision to internal teams, external stakeholders, and
clients.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing insights into
product functionality, usage, and expected benefits.
- Technical Leadership
- Support the training and mentoring of Product Managers to
enhance their skills and professional growth.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies to inform
product strategy and innovation.
- Provide thought leadership to stakeholders on product design,
usage, and effectiveness.
- Establish, track, and analyze product performance metrics to
drive continuous improvement in product quality, utilization, and
supporting infrastructure.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; preferred
fields include Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration,
Nursing, Public Health, or related disciplines.
- 7+ years of product management experience, specifically in
healthcare, digital health, or patient education.
- Expertise in configuring, customizing, and optimizing workflows
for solutions across various EHR providers.
- Demonstrated experience designing and managing products that
empower patients with educational resources in clinical or digital
health environments.
- Strong knowledge of clinical interoperability standards (e.g.,
HL7, FHIR) and experience integrating with EMRs, EHRs, and other
clinical data sources.
- Hands-on experience developing or integrating patient education
products within healthcare systems to ensure seamless data flow and
accessibility for providers and patients.
- Proven ability to design user-centered products with a focus on
accessibility, usability, and personalized content delivery for
patient education and engagement.
- Experience conducting user research to address the educational
needs of diverse patient populations.
- Proficiency in data management and analytics to assess patient
education and engagement metrics.
- Ability to leverage clinical and patient engagement data to
drive product enhancements and ensure alignment with patient
needs.
- In-depth understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements
(e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and their impact on patient education products,
ensuring compliance and privacy.
- Proven ability to analyze product performance and market data
to develop actionable recommendations for product and
infrastructure improvements.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize
tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills to convey detailed, persuasive
information to stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
- Commitment to strict design principles and adherence to
policies.
- Creative problem-solving skills to translate ideas and customer
input into innovative products and solutions.
- Ability to coach and train colleagues on policies, processes,
and best practices.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
