Job Description:

An X-Ray Technologist, also known as a Radiologic Technologist, is responsible for using imaging equipment to take x-rays of patients' bones, organs, tissues, and blood vessels. The role involves preparing patients for procedures, operating imaging technology, maintaining patient records, and adhering to safety protocols to protect patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure. Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and protect them from excessive radiation exposure. Position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to specification of examination. Explain procedures to patients and answer questions about the process. Monitor patients during exams and report any abnormal reactions to appropriate medical personnel. Maintain accurate patient records and radiographic logs. Inspect and perform basic maintenance on radiologic equipment to ensure it is functioning properly. Collaborate with radiologists to determine the proper examination techniques to best suit diagnostic needs. Proficiency in operating radiologic equipment such as X-ray machines and computed tomography (CT) scanners. Strong understanding of radiation safety and protection practices. Excellent patient management skills to comfort and position patients effectively. Ability to read and interpret doctors' orders and medical information.
