Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Chattanooga,
Tennessee, 37412! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN

per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery
License: Current RN License Certifications: - AWHONN intermediate
fetal monitoring - NRP - ACLS - BLS Must-Have: - 2 years of Labor
and Delivery experience - 1 or more travel contracts completed
Description: The unit has a total of 9 labor rooms, 6 triage rooms,
3 antepartum rooms, and 3 operating rooms. Patient ratios are as
follows: 1:1-2 for laboring patients, 1:2-3 for antepartum, and 1:1
for cesarean sections and PACU. An OB tech is always in staffing
for assisting with vaginal deliveries and scrubbing cesarean
sections. There is 1 dedicated charge nurse to assist with triage
and transport, along with 1 unit secretary available from 0700 to
2300. The documentation system used is Meditech and Centricity.
Staff are required to work 3 shifts per week. If working during
winter holidays, staff must be available for 1-2 days or evenings.
Floating to Mother Baby is possible but not frequent. Advanced
skills required include NRP, ACLS, BLS, and AWHONN intermediate
fetal monitoring. Procedures performed on the unit include cervical
exams, IUPC and FSE placement, vaginal deliveries, IV starts with
lab draws, circulating cesarean sections, and recovering cesarean
sections, usually with spinal anesthesia. The facility has a
monthly birth volume of 200 deliveries and is experiencing
significant growth. New practices and healthcare providers are
being added to enhance services. There is 24-hour coverage by both
an MD and a CNM. Dedicated anesthesia providers are available
around the clock. The facility offers nitrous oxide therapy for
pain management, in addition to epidural analgesia. Recent
renovations have been completed for labor and delivery and
mother-baby units, including the addition of six new,
state-of-the-art mother-baby rooms. The team utilizes advanced
tools such as the Jada, fetal pillow, and Cook's catheters. Most
nursing staff have completed Spinning Babies or Supporting Vaginal
Birth classes to improve patient care and outcomes. 5 Benefits of
