Registered Nurse (RN) | Med/Surg / Telemetry Location: Macon, GA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,894 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years Med/Tele RN experience License: RN License (Associate's degree at a minimum) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Strong clinical assessment and time management skills - IV insertion and maintenance skills - Cardiac monitoring and interpretation - Care coordination with interdisciplinary teams - Discharge planning knowledge and patient education Description: The role involves providing care to patients admitted with a variety of common diagnoses. Patient types may include those with chest pain, syncope, abdominal pain, COPD exacerbation, heart failure observation, dehydration, hypertension, diabetes, trauma, and others. The typical patient ratio is 1 RN to 4-6 patients. Nurses will be responsible for direct patient care, including trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, insulin drips, heparin drips, and drips to titrate to heart rate. Support within the department includes assistance from CNAs for vital signs, glucose checks, bathing, feeding, and ambulating patients. A unit secretary is available from 7 AM to 11 PM, with coverage from a house-wide call secretary from 11 PM to 7 AM. Charge nurses may or may not have patient assignments but provide leadership and support. Phlebotomy services typically involve nurses drawing blood, with a designated PICC team for specialized access needs. Respiratory therapy and hospitalist services are available 24/7 to support patient needs. The facility utilizes EMR systems, IV pumps, and various monitoring technologies for patient care. Nurses will work weekends with an expectation of several weekend shifts in a six-week scheduling cycle. Holiday work is also expected for major holidays throughout the year.
