Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Neuro PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/20/2026 - Duration: 8 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Days, 3x12hrs - Hours: 36 hrs/wk - Start Date: Apr 20, 2026 - Length: 8 weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (Neuro Stepdown) position at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring neuro stepdown experience and Epic proficiency. Details - Position is located on a 7A Neurology Progressive Care (Stepdown) Unit within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center - 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts per week - 4 weekend shifts required per month - Block scheduling is not available - No on-call requirements - Epic EMR is used and experience is required Requirements - Active GA RN license or Compact RN license required - Current BLS and ACLS certifications required - NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for consideration - Minimum 2 years of neuro stepdown or progressive care nursing experience required - Strong med/surg candidates with NIHSS, ACLS, and stepdown experience may also be considered - Epic EMR experience required - Background in high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments with complex and diverse cases required Additional Information - This facility is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center — candidates must have proven experience managing critical, fast-paced situations in large-scale trauma environments - Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered - Local candidates are accepted for this position - NIHSS certification must be documented and available for consideration American Traveler Job ID P-689843.
