Privacy Office (GPO), you will work on complex privacy and
information governance topics shaping the global payments ecosystem
as we enter the AI age. You will have a unique opportunity to
become an expert on a diverse range of cutting-edge topics. In
addition to leading the Visa global privacy program, our team
supports a wide array of global, regional, and local initiatives on
data governance, cybersecurity, records and information management,
AI and machine learning, open banking and cross border data

to apply for a role with the GPO. The Director of Global Privacy
and Information Governance will be a critical leader for the
organization’s enterprise-wide privacy and information management
programs. Reporting to the Senior Managing Counsel of Program,
Policy, & Governance, this role ensures compliance with global data
protection laws and internal governance standards, while enabling
effective and secure management of information assets throughout
their lifecycle. Essential Functions: Manage and oversee global
privacy and data protection policies, procedures, and compliance
frameworks. Lead the enterprise records retention and information
management program, including retention schedules, classification
standards, and secure disposition protocols. Manage and respond to
global destruction requests in accordance with legal, regulatory,
and operational requirements. Collaborate with Legal, Compliance,
IT, Cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to ensure integrated
governance across privacy and information management functions.
Monitor global regulatory developments and emerging risks to ensure
proactive compliance and program adaptability. Responsible for
developing and managing governance projects across multiple
stakeholder groups including ensuring governance documentation and
training is well-coordinated and centralized. Oversee and conduct
privacy risk assessments and other privacy and information
governance risk management initiatives. Aligning with key GPO
stakeholders to drive prioritization of training and awareness
initiatives to promote consistent adoption of privacy and
information governance practices across the organization. Support
internal and external audits, assessments, and reporting related to
privacy and records management. Consistently manage stakeholder
expectations, ensure delivery of the highest quality service, and
solicit and act on feedback. Proactively identify opportunities and
deliver improvements. This is a hybrid position. Expectation of
days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications: 10 or more years of work
experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work
experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at
least 3 years of work experience with a PhD Preferred
Qualifications: 12 or more years of work experience with a
Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced
Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6 years of work experience
with a PhD Relevant experience includes privacy governance, privacy
operations management, records and information management, and/ or
privacy legal experience in a global entity. Previous experience
drafting and implementing policies, standards, procedures, and/or
trainings. Previous experience developing and refining risk
management programs for privacy and/or records and information
management. Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and
interpersonal communications skills. Demonstrated ability to work
with and support cross-functional project teams. Versatility,
ability to prioritize and handle a large number of matters, and
ability to work effectively on a small team with significant
workload. Prior people manager experience. JD or equivalent
strongly preferred. Ability to successfully navigate environments
with imperfect information, and to assess and predict second and
third order impacts. Ability to understand and document project
requirements and dependencies. Strong people skills with proven
ability to build strong working relationships with internal clients
at all levels of management and work on cross-functional teams on
complex issues. Strong attention to detail and focus on task
completion is critical. IAPP certification such as CIPM or similar.
Additional Information Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the
department. Travel Requirements: This position requires travel
5-10% of the time. Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will
be performed in an office setting. The position will require the
incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by
telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as

salary range for this position is $145,100 to $199,800 USD per
year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if
applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which
may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In
addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa
