Provides pastoral care services to patients and their families,
and hospital staff members throughout the hospital.
Responsibilities involve conducting spiritual needs assessments and
providing spiritual care services as appropriate. Responsibilities
also include facilitating support group and other patient support
services, and developing and conducting education and training
programs.REQUIRED 1. Graduate of an approved program of theological
education (M.Div., MATS, Th.M., MPS, etc.,) or a Bachelor's degree
with at least 10 years of professional employment as a healthcare
chaplain. 2. Four (4) units (minimum) of Clinical Pastoral
Education from an Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc.
(ACPE, Inc.) accredited CPE program. 3. Ordination or active in
process of ordination or the equivalent (as determined by the
Association for Professional Chaplains or Association for Clinical
Pastoral Education, Inc. equivalency standards and/or at discretion
of Manager). 4. Ecclesiastical endorsement for chaplaincy (as
applicable per faith group at discretion of Manager). 5. Ability to
be open, flexible, and sensitive to cultural and religious
diversity. 6. Ability to do some evening work and overnight on-call
duty. 7. Ability to relate to medical and other patient care staff
and religious leaders in the community PREFERRED 8. Four (4) units
(min.) of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from an Association for
Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. (ACPE, Inc.) accredited CPE
program (for Full time or part-time chaplains on staff). A standard
of one (1) unit (minimum) of Clinical Pastoral Education from an
Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. (ACPE, Inc.)
accredited CPE program (for resource chaplains). 9. Prior
experience as a Chaplain in a hospital setting. 10. Board
Certification, Association of Professional Chaplains (APC, Inc. or
the equivalent) 11. Advanced (doctoral or related) degree in a
field relevant to spiritual health and education. 12. Previous
publications in the field of spiritual health and education. 13.
Bilingual or multilingual fluency.
