Our Opportunity

This hybrid role is to support the Sr. Merchant in the overall product recommendations across all delivery channels, including E-commerce, Digital and TV Channel. This person will be an internal champion of data-driven decision making.

The Associate Merchant OR Merchant Analyst will focus on conducting analysis of category performance and industry trends, and providing business recommendations on assortment, pricing, promotional planning, customer experience, and forecasting based on data are key for success.

The Associate Merchant OR Merchant Analyst is also responsible for supporting the Sr. Merchant in creating the online merchandise assortment to ensure a presentation that leverages brand vision and strategies to drive profitable selling. This person will also be responsible for the day-to-day functions for optimizing the online catalog to achieve key metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track vendor performance against projected benefits and airtime productivity targets on an ongoing basis.
  • Regularly inform the Sr. Merchant of performance and deviation from plan; conduct root-cause analysis to understand drivers of performance and ensure on time right quantity delivery of inventory placement.
  • Provide technical and strategic input around internal and external vendor dashboards; provide ad-hoc reporting to Sr. Merchant and recommend changes to dashboard to create deeper insights to vendor performance.
  • Optimize inventory health through regular benefits reports and accurate forecast & inventory planning for Sr. Merchant
  • drive forward looking analysis and leverage set best practices on products, pricing and promotional plans based on strategy.
  • Proactively evaluate and optimize product content opportunities in collaboration with internal partners.
  • Conduct ongoing supplier, product, and show-level airtime productivity analysis to identify drivers of performance and propose corrective actions in terms of assortment and airtime planning.
  • Locate and execute opportunities to increase vendor performance engaging in communications while proposing rollout strategies for both internally and externally.
  • Support the Sr. Merchant in managing the Vendor Quarterly Business Review (QBR) process and consult with cross-functional teams to ensure improvement initiatives identified are implemented and drive benefits backed by key performance data.
  • Update and maintain online catalog assortments.
  • Assist Sr. Merchant in product selection and follow process from inception to online delivery.
  • Make recommendations to the Sr. Merchant for marketing and promotional opportunities.Key Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in a related business field preferred.
    • 5+ years of demonstrated success as a business analyst or similar roles required.
    • 3+ years of ecommerce or retail merchandising, business development, partnership management, business analysis, and/or project management experience.
    • Effective research skills, including the ability to analyze information and make strategic decisions in accordance with company guidelines.
    • Rigorous quantitative data analysis skills.
    • Ability to communicate in a compelling manner, drive organizational excellence, and influence teams that are directly or indirectly managed.
    • Strong ability and capacity to work in demanding environments.
    • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, diligence, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Experience with multiple-source data and trend analysis.
    • Understanding of the B2C eCommerce retail industry because of work experience in similar settings.
