Position Summary: The Quality Assurance Engineer's primary role is to identify, track and communicate product quality issues. The QA Engineer works closely with the suppliers and Yanmar factories to develop and implement corrective actions. The QA Engineer is tasked with continuously evaluating the quality of Yanmar's products in support of new product and feature development. This position serves as a technical subject matter expert on assigned products to support the Customer Support Division in detailed root cause analysis. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop data models and tools, as needed, to identify, track, and report trending quality issues Monitor warranty, quality, and technical support data to identify and produce detailed reports on failure trends Management of countermeasure development and implementation Preform root cause analysis on failures in support of quality investigations and warranty judgments Detailed documentation and record keeping of all quality issues and activates Lead QA meetings with suppliers and Yanmar factories, including outside normal business hours Provide quality oversight and reporting on potential quality risks Work closely with Quality Control team and other quality adjacent teams Serve as the subject matter expert on assigned Yanmar products to support the Customer Support Division on complex and high priority machine down cases. Support new product launches through detailed insight into past product performance Continuous development and improvement of quality management processes and procedures Supervisory Responsibility None Critical Interfaces All levels of employees at YA, and key Yanmar Japan employees. End Users, Dealers, vendors and other persons involved in YANMAR business. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent communication, analytical and project management skills Ability to multitask and maintain a professional attitude Technical equipment systems knowledge / comprehension Skilled in problem analysis and resolution Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills Familiar with industry concepts, practices, and procedures Ability to create useful reports based on multiple data sources with complex linkage to inform decisions Knowledge and functional use of MS Office tools, specifically experience with MS Excel is required. Strong technical writing skills Experience with CAD is a plus Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other related quality or technical field. One (1) year of Quality or Warranty experience is a plus Experience in the Industrial Engine, Construction Equipment, or Agricultural Equipment industry preferred Data management and analysis experience. Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, Minitab, or other comparable data tools preferred Prior experience working with a multi-discipline team preferred. Ability to routinely participate in conference calls outside of regular business hours. Ability to work 8+ hours per day in a plant/office setting. May occasionally lift and move up to 20 pounds in an office or similar setting. Must be able to navigate all areas of the building and facility as needed. Ability to travel an average of 20% domestically and internationally and manage travel expenses in a cost-efficient manner. Bilingual (English / Japanese) is a plus.
