options.GENERAL SUMMARY:The Leave and Benefits Specialist will be
responsible for administration of the company's benefits programs
to include leaves of absences under FMLA, Military, ADA, STD, LTD
and Workers Compensation. This role will evaluate Lendmark's
disability and leaves of absence programs and suggest policy and
practice revisions as needed. This role is an integral part of the
Total Rewards team and will collaborate with Payroll and our
third-party administrators to ensure employees are paid accurately
while on leave of absence and ensure the efficient administration
and timely resolution of a variety of employee questions and
issues. -This role provides outreach and guidance to all employees
to ensure they have the information necessary to support a positive
leave of absence experience. This role will provide exemplary
customer service and assistance to Lendmark employees, managers,
and Human Resources Business Partners by counseling all parties on
various benefits programs, leave policies, practices and procedures
as needed and ensure compliance with state and federal laws and
regulations including FMLA, ADAAA, and HIPPA.
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Leave Management Core
Responsibilities & Duties: (50%)
- Hands-on responsibility for day-to-day administration of all
employee leave of absence programs, including FMLA, STD, LTD, ADA,
and Worker's Compensation Claims
- Serves as liaison between the company, third-party
administrators Aflac and Chubb, employees, managers, and the Human
Resources Business Partner team to manage all accommodations and
personal leave requests (end-to-end).
- Uses prior experience and understanding of best practices and
applicable laws to closely monitor process.
- Scrutinizes the effectiveness of the company disability and
leave process on an ongoing basis to determine more efficient ways
to handle.
- Serves as primary contact for employees, HRBP team, Benefits,
Payroll, Managers and third-party vendors on all leave policies and
procedures.
- Maintains communication with employees on leave to facilitate
smooth departure and timely return to work; relays communication to
leave employees, managers, HR Business Partners, and Payroll during
leave as needed.
- Tracks all leave of absence claims, claim updates, and return
to work notices.
- Tracks and stores documentation related to LOAs, disability
claims, workers comp, and accommodation requests.
- Facilitates other leave requests, which may include
accommodation requests under the ADA. Personal leaves etc. and
documents personal leave requests and works with HR Business
Partners on approvals/denials and communications.
- Facilitates and provides guidance to employees on Worker's
compensation claim process and filing.
- Develops and delivers training materials and programs to
educate managers and employees on LOA, short term disability, long
term disability and accommodations process.
- Consults with, Sr. Manager, Compensation & Benefits, HRBP Team
and legal on complex issues.
- Ensures leave cases are administered in accordance with
applicable state and federal laws and regulations including FMLA,
ADAAA, and HIPPA.
- Updates Leave of Absence status, return to work and unpaid time
in Workday.
- Conducts regular data audits to ensure Workday and vendor
partner systems reflect accurate employee status information.
- Apply metrics to gather and analyze data that can be used to
inform about LOA trends and to improve management of LOAs.
- Perform other leave of absence related
responsibilities/activities as assigned.Benefits Administration
Core Responsibilities & Duties: (50%)
- Supports in the administration of various employee benefit
programs including group health, flexible spending accounts, health
reimbursement accounts, dental, vision, accident, disability, life
insurance and 401(k).
- Serves as back up to support with reconciling and ensuring
timely payment of monthly group insurance premium invoices.
- Serves as back up to assist in monitoring the benefit
departments email box and responding to employee benefits related
questions and issues.
- Supports benefits team with helping employees understand
benefit options available.
- Supports benefits team with annual open enrollment
process.
- Support benefits team with other benefits related
responsibilities/activities as assigned.
REQUIRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years Leave Administration
experience.
- Minimum 3 years demonstrated benefits administration experience
supporting multiple aspects of benefits administration
functions.
- Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations related to workers'
compensation.
- Knowledge of leave laws (FMLA, ADA, HIPPA, etc.).
- Expertise in all applicable
LOA/Disability/Accommodation-related laws within the US.
- Experience managing a high-volume of cases providing expert
consultation to managers, employees, and HR Business Partners
regarding; reasonable medical accommodations, LOAs, short-term
disability programs, long-term disability programs and return from
leave with complex accommodations.
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to
certain benefit programs (i.e., ERISA, COBRA, IRS section
125).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and
information.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail to
provide prompt, accurate responses.
- Ability to work with a broad team in a collaborative
manner.
- Proven ability to provide a superior customer experience.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, and
comfortable in fast paced environment.
- Strong conceptual and problem-solving skills to evaluate
problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions;
ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently.
- Microsoft Office, Excellent Excel (Pivots and VLOOKUPs) and
Word skills
PERFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
- SHRM, PHR, or CEBS designation
- HR Generalist experience
- Workday and Workday Absence Management experience
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Primarily located in office environment (Gwinnett)
- Travel: -Less than 10%
