Job ID: 20811 Position Description: NSI-MI Technologies is the world leader in the design and delivery of state-of-the-art measurement systems used to verify performance of cutting-edge microwave communications devices. NSI-MI systems are used in many industries to support development of next generation products including satellites, radar, automotive communications, radar cross section, radome testing and many more wireless communications applications. Overview: The primary role of this position is to perform mechanical assembly of various precision assemblies of Reflector products, including back structures and stands. The Mechanical Technician position involves the assembly and installation of a low volume, high technology, high variation product mix, produced in a project driven build-to-order production working environment. --- Fasten components or parts together, using hand tools, structural adhesives, torque wrenches, and welding equipment. --- Clean materials as required to allow proper adhesion of paints and glues. --- Inspect and test parts and accessories for leakage, defects, or functionality, using electronic, optical, and mechanical test equipment. --- Set and verifies clearance of parts. --- Set-up and installation of back structures, stands, reflector panels and associated products. --- Verify conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauges, micrometers, indicators, and laser trackers utilizing SMRs. --- Lay-out, drill, ream, tap and cut parts for assembly. --- Perform Preventative Maintenance per instructions and update checklists. --- Examine parts upon M.O. receipt and during build for defects such as improper fit, breakage and excessive wear. --- Fabrication of panels and structures, requiring material cutting, clamping, gluing, lifting, and painting. --- Assists Entry level associates in all aspects of work to ensure quality of final products --- Analyzes assembly blueprints, schematics, and specification manuals, and assembles, reworks, repairs, and safely lifts and moves delicate heavy products. --- Work with little or no direct supervision in field installation scenarios. --- Able to set up lasers for measurement and conduct measuring of surface and run Tracker Cal and Spatial Analyzer software packages to yield data suitable for submitting to Engineering for review and approval. --- Lead by example and instruction certified Entry-level employees in the safe conduction of all production operations; for example, proper lifting and rigging of objects and operation of equipment. --- Creative approach to problem solving and ability to exercise good judgement. --- Ability to manually lift/move up to 45 pounds. Position Requirements: Desirable skills/experience: --- Set-up, operation, and MDI of CNC machinery --- Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment. MIG and TIG Welding capabilities. --- Set-up and operation of metalworking equipment such as milling, drilling, turning, and grinding machinery to shape or fabricate parts. --- Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering background desirable. --- Body shop skills such as painting and alignment is highly valued. Must have the ability to obtain or have a U.S. Government security clearance. This position will require domestic and international travel, approximately 25% of the time. Experience Level: 4 years minimum of machine building / assembly experience or a combination of applicable course work and job experience.
