Responsibilities
Functions under the direction of the Manager Supply Chain Lean/IE.
The Inventory Project Consultant 1 delivers operational oversight
and execution of the Wellstar Kanban system in varying healthcare
environments. The Inventory Project Consultant 1 optimizes Supply
Chain services in order to minimize cost and support a value driven
supply system. Ultimately responsible for timely, precise, and
effective installation of Kanban program, as well as follow-up
performance management and training post implementation. This
position leads and/or assists Consultant 2 in leading the Kanban
Installation team to meet the deliverables as set forth by
leadership at the assigned client site.
Qualifications
Required Minimum Education: High School or General Education
Diploma (GED) graduate or Associate Degree from an accredited
institution. Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree
Preferred Certification: Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt
Required Minimum Experience: 3 years' experience in Supply Chain
and an Associates degree,
OR 5 years' Supply Chain experience with a High School or GED
diploma. Preferred Experience: 5 years of supply chain experience
in healthcare setting with an emphasis on lean methodologies.
Required Minimum Skills: Highly detail oriented. Ability to
communicate and understand verbal and written English. Knowledge of
medical supply terminology preferred. Possess technical skills to
operate PC and hand-held devices. Possess skills to interact with
clinicians, leadership and other hospital or clinical off-site
location personnel. Ability to travel within the Wellstar system
around the Metro Atlanta area. System Applications: Lawson (after
training), Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft applications.
Must demonstrate the ability to communicate, speak, and enunciate
to express / exchange ideas and detailed
information in person and on the telephone. Expressing or
exchanging ideas by means of spoken or written English to impart
oral or written information to others and to convey detailed spoken
instructions to others. Work requires a minimum standard of visual
acuity, with or without correction, with the ability to adjust the
eye to bring an object into sharp focus, i.e. shift gaze from
viewing a computer monitor to forms that are closer to compare data
at close vision, Frequent/routine walking, standing, stooping,
assisting with positioning of patients, lifting while appropriately
using safe patient handling while always optimizing the use of
appropriate (lift) equipment and some sitting. Exposure to
anesthetic gases, blood and body fluids, sharps, hospital grade
cleaning solutions, flammable solutions: ie: alcohol, latex, etc.
Work schedule may vary, dependent upon unit needs and travel
between clinical assignments may be necessary. Ability to
push/pull/transport materials of at least 20 pounds.
Frequent/routine operation of telephone and computer equipment in a
typical office setting. Periodic travel between office sites.
