at: -POSITION SUMMARYThe Import Operations Manager (Licensed
Customs Broker) is responsible for the process and activities
required to manager Customs Entries, governmental compliance, and
processing the import fillings of good into the US. This role
requires a Brokers License. -This role is 100% in the office. -The
import Operations Manager can be broken down into following
areas:Compliance:
Ensure that customs and governmental
processes, procedures and activities are performed and managed
bases on global, country port, and mode of transportation specific
governmental regulations. Keep abreast of laws and regulations
regarding brokerage compliance and develop specific programs to
ensure that personnel are properly trained and equipped with the
knowledge to maintain a complaint environment. Responsible for use
of company funds and negotiable documents to ensure that there are
not any violations of governmental, banking or corporate standards.
Operational Excellence:
Manager and deliver on corporate
commitments based on local, national, and global strategies. Ensure
staff is both productive and maintaining quality necessary to meet
company expectations. Monitor implementation of new supplies,
carries, and service providers to ensure al KPIs are met. Seek cost
efficiencies and process improvements within different functions of
the products and departments and work with the team to implement as
appropriate. Ensure proper staffing coverage of clearance across
all modes of transportation.Develop working relationships with
corporate team branch managers, Air and Ocean product owners, local
or regional government compliance personnel and staff to ensure the
highest level of customer service and compliance. Perform
department audits and develop a consistent measurable audit program
to ensure compliance processes.Cost Control and Revenue
Growth:Manage and maintain operational excellence for Customs
BrokeragePartner with business units, Air & Ocean product teams and
procurement teams to enhance the business and expand business.
Execute on monthly targets and controls as defined by country and
regional leadership.Ensure compliance with internal and external
controls and KPIs set at the global and regional levels.SKILLS AND
REQUIREMENTS
4 or more years in a similar
position. Must possess strong knowledge and understanding of the
customs clearance, government regulations security, freight
forwarding business and be able to identify areas of operational,
financial, and people improvement.College degree preferred, but a
combination of equivalent and education experience may be
substituted. Knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff System
(HTS).Experience with GTM- Global Trade Manager a plus but not
required.Attention to detail and highly motivated. Licensed Custom
Broker is Required. Must be fluent in English, other languages are
a plus. Software Knowledge: MS Office Suite, GTM-Global Trade
Management System is a plus. -WORK HOURS8AM - 5PM, Monday - Friday.
100% in office. -Expected travel away from home site/location: less
than 10%WORK ENVIRONMENTThe physical demands and work environment
are representative of a typical office environment, though this
person is expected to occasionally be on and work in the
manufacturing floor/environment. While performing the duties of
this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk;
sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or
controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop,
kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must
occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
This is a full-time exempt position with occasional weekend
